Utah trip

We are back from our trip to Utah and finally feeling settled. We had a great time in Utah, but it's a lot easier leaving 20 degrees and snow and coming back to 75 degrees and swimming.
We went up to see baby Jonas's baby blessing and what an amazing experience. The spirit that baby has is incredible and I think Whit did such a great job giving him his blessing. Lindsey and Whit are so great with that adorable little baby. He is such a sweetie and we're so excited to go to Disneyland with him in a few weeks!
Another exciting thing we got to see was my older sister Jenn have her baby! Not actually see her have the baby, but afterwards, when he was all cleaned up. I know he came early because he wanted to meet his favorite Aunt Lindsay! But I really was so excited to get to be a part of that and see him before we came home.
Of course we're back right in time for Morgan to start studying for finals but, with the pool around the corner, I'm sure we'll find a way to manage passing the time;)

Day at the Zoo

We had such a great day at the zoo! Thanks, Siri, for the passes! It was nice to get out (even though it was FREEZING, at least to us Arizona girls) and let the kids see all the animals. Max is starting to know the animals more, their names and noises, so it's fun to see how excited he gets. He really had a blast today, especially following Jack around! Of course, he was so excited about the merry-go-round at the end, but as soon as the "gator" started going up and down, Max was more than ready to be done. I don't know if we'll go back any time soon, though. Most of the time just being home is a good enough "trip" to the zoo for me;)

Christmas Pictures

For those of you that didn't get to see our Christmas pictures, I'm sorry, but I had to delete the slide show in order to get the Christmas music off! It was driving me nuts!! So, here are a few pix from Christmas, sorry they are a little outdated, but that way at least some are on here.

Woody's hat?

Max lately has been OBSESSED with his Buzz and Woody dolls. He shares his food with them, gives them kisses, and tucks them in at night after making me and Morgan give them kisses. And for some reason, Max is obsessed with Woody's hat. I'm not sure if it's because in Toy Story 2 Woody loses it, or what, but Max has to make sure he's got it with him. It's so funny!
Anyways, the past few days have been kind of non eventful. Morgan is back at school full-time and then some so Max and I have to think of ways to keep busy. Poor kid is so sick of me I'm sure. Here are some random pix of the past few days. Hope everyone is having a great New Year!

Guess I didn't get the laundry folded fast enough....

Knocking down the couch fort....

Notice the hat he's wearing...

New Year's Eve

Morgan and I thought we would start the New Year by letting Max sleep in his "big boy" bed. Keep your fingers crossed he makes it through the night without falling off!!! And Happy New Year's!!

Ward Christmas Party

Loves those babies!

We had such a good time at our ward party on Saturday! Our ward is so friendly and it's so nice meeting so many other young couples! There was a great dinner for everyone and after dinner, Max and Addie had fun playing in the nursery. Of course, Max found a baby doll and would not part with it for anything. He sure loves playing with "babies." Maybe he's trying to tell us something?? Then Santa came by for pictures and we got Max on his lap for about 2 seconds before he started crying. It's so funny how scared they are of that man! Maybe I should have explained more about Santa before just throwing him on his lap. I probably wouldn't like being shoved onto a strangers lap, either! But it was a great night and really got us into the holiday spirit!

Eating Gingerbread Houses

Yea, and instead of being a good mom and saying something like "Get off the table, we don't eat sugar before breakfast," I was like "Hold it, hold it, let me get the camera!" Great parenting, huh? He is such a stink!

Making Gingerbread Houses

Last night we went over to Josh and Abbie's to make Gingerbread Houses. It was such a blast! Abbie had made all the gingerbread, frosting, and even cut all the gingerbread into house pieces. All we had to do was put them together and decorate! Some people got really creative (Uh, Jeff and Hilary's was VERY VERY colorful, Matt and Sarah's, well, I'm sure if you know them, you can only imagine) and even when Sean and Siri's fell apart, he fixed it to look like it was meant to have the roof cave in! I was totally impressed with everyone's decorating skills! Too bad Max was a big bully and we had to leave early. He sure loved playing with little baby Tienna, though. I think he's found himself a girlfriend!:) Thanks, Josh and Abbie, for hosting a way fun night!!

Front of house

Morgan wanted me to post a picture of the front of the house so, here you go.

Thanks, Gramma and Papa!

Thanks, mom, for the cute Thanksgiving package that we JUST GOT! Max loves all the books you sent and Morgan and I think he looks soooo cute in his new red vest. It must be magic because he was EXCELLENT in nursery today:)

Salon Haircut

Such a handsome boy!!

We finally took Max to a "real" salon to get his hair cut. Well, Fantastic Sams, which is pretty much just a step up from mom cutting it, but still. He was a little scared at first so Morgan sat down with him. Once he got his Pez candy he was good to go. He pretty much just sat and stared at himself in the mirror and after he was done he got a sucker and was pretty thrilled about that. He was dancing all around the place!! But he is such a cutie and I'm so glad his hair turned out so nicely. I guess we'll have to stick with the actual haircuts until "buzzing" time comes around in May!

New house

Here are some pictures of our new house. I'm still feeling a little unsettled, but maybe once Morgan is back in school I can finally start focusing on getting things put away and hung up. It really is a great place, tons bigger and in a way nicer area. There is a pond a few blocks away and Max sure loves the ducks there! The weather has gotten better, too. It was only 72 degrees here today and we even had the heat on last night! We went to our new ward today and stayed for Sacrament. The ward seems really nice and we already know so many people there that we really felt welcome. Of course Max saw Jack Redd immediately and started yelling "Jack, Jack!!" That's going to be fun for him to have friends in the ward!
Unfortunately school starts tomorrow for Morgan. But I'm thinking that the next few weeks are going to fly, and soon we'll be up in Utah celebrating Christmas with everyone. I can't believe it's Max's 2nd Christmas already! He is getting so big and he is such a riot sometimes. He seems to have his finger permanently up his nose (hmmm...wonder what side of the family he got that from??) and claps when he finally gets what he's digging for. And his new favorite show is Toy Story. He goes around saying "Buzz" and "Woody." He sure likes the new house, too. He especially is loving sleeping in mom and dad's bed when he wakes up around 5 or 6 every morning. That is going to get halted as of tomorrow so we'll see how that goes!
I guess that's all for now!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
At first I was feeling really sad that we weren't going to be able to make it up to Utah for Thanksgiving, but I actually have really enjoyed spending every extra minute with my husband. Today was no exception. Morgan woke up really early and started working on the Turkey. Then he went on to prepare most of the food. The Redd's came over and brought some yummy food and we had a HUGE Thanksgiving dinner! The Redd's are always such a laugh and we have such a good time with them. There was tons of food and we just got to sit back, laugh, and eat while Max and Jack rough housed and played around. After they left, Max was yelling "Jack!" at the door. He was ready to leave with them! He definitely loves having friends over to his new house. And I definitely love our new place. It needs a lot of work, still tons of pictures to be put up and tons of cleaning (from moving in) but, it'll keep me busy for a while which is good because I'm going to be really sad when Morgan goes back to school. I'm hoping for some major visits in January to keep me from getting too sad! That's to you, Gramma and Papa Lewis, and to you, too, Grammie and Grandpa Mathie!:)
