Back from Utah

We had such a good time in Utah but it is so nice to be home and back to my husband. Max and I missed Morgan a lot this trip and were excited to see him. We had fun in Utah, though, and will miss the cooler weather. Max is going to miss his cute little cousin Kate and favorite Uncle Logan. They sure had a good time together these past few days. He and Kate would just copy each other and it was so funny to watch.
Thanks, Becky and Mark, for all the rides and pick ups from the airport. I know it was a hassle and I appreciate it.
And of course, mom, thanks for buying all of the jammies Max could ever need! He loves his new "potty" book that you got him, too. Which reminds me, he actually did go potty in the toilet the other day. It was so funny, I just can't believe he's almost old enough to potty train!!
Anyways, off to pack. I probably won't post anything for a while, at least until we get settled.
Good luck with the baby, Lindsey! We hope he is a few days early, maybe over a weekend so you don't have to take early maternity! Good luck!!:)
And Happy Birthday Whit and Brooke!

Fun in New York

I had such a blast in New York this past weekend! We got to do so much and see so much (and spend so much....)
The first day we went to the Empire State building and Macy's. The next day we did The Today Show (which Morgan saw me on!) and tons of shopping on Fifth. We took a carriage ride in Central Park and that was a hoot. That night we saw Mary Poppins which was amazing! Then on Saturday we went to the Museum of Modern Art and saw the George Seurat exhibit was incredible. Van Gogh's Starry Night was there and I loved seeing that again. After we went to Canal Street (yuck) and got some cool knock offs. Then down to Battery Park to see the Statue of Liberty. Then of course, the Law and Order Courthouse!! On Sunday we went to church at the Manhattan Temple and that really was a great experience. On our way to the airport we stopped at another L&O favorite, Grimaldi's Pizza where we had lunch. My favorite was probably Mary Poppins:)
I did love getting to spend some time with my sisters and mom. And although I missed Max (and Morgan) like CRAZY, it was nice having some time away to be a kid again myself. Thanks mom for taking us all on this awesome trip! I hope you had as much fun as we did!! LOVE YOU!
And thank you to the Mathie's for watching Max!! Sorry he was sick, I hope you can get the smell out of your couch! And Logan....:)

Halloween Party

We had such a great time at our Halloween pot luck/costume party tonight! Thanks to everyone for bringing such great food. And to Brooke, Sarah, and Jill, thanks for staying to help clean up. I hope everyone had as much fun as Morgan and I did!
I can't believe how awesome everyone's costumes were and how cute the kids were. I hope everyone got tons of great pictures! Obviously the most creative costume award goes to Matt and Sarah. Matt has been dying to get into those short shorts, I'm sure. Sean, Siri, and Addie and Abbie, Josh and Tienna all did a GREAT job coordinating family outfits. I thought they were all so cute! Dave and Luke Owen were such great Ute bball players, I loved that! And cute Jill and Kevin in their supermodel outfits, they totally pulled it off! And the Wilson kids in their cute scrubs, they were adorable! I can't believe that Kelly made those! They were awesome! And Mike and Heidi and cute little Jamie, it was so fun to see them again.
We had such a great time tonight, even though all we did was eat, chat, and take pictures. I always forget how even though you put so much time and effort into these things, they go by so fast and before I knew it, people were leaving and cleaning up! It was such a great night and definitely something I am glad we did before Max and I leave to Utah. Thanks again to everyone who came for making it such a fun party! And thanks to Emily for coming before to help me with some cooking and watching Max! You saved me!
Well, I guess I won't be posting anything until after finals. Hopefully the next posting will involve a change of address...:)

Luke's Birthday Party

Last weekend we went over to the Owen family's for Luke's first birthday Halloween Party. It was such a cute party! Max loved decorating the pumpkins and playing around with all the other cute little kids. It was such a cute party and lots of fun for everyone! Max went as Superman and as you can see, was DYING of heat. He was sweating, poor kid. He was EXHAUSTED when we got home. Just wanted to chill out on the couch. I need to do more things like that that just to wear him out! I think he's bored with just hanging out with mom all day. Makes me sad to realize he's growing up so fast!

Helping mom bake fudge

Stinker got marshmallow creme all over the house...

Boys will be boys

Max and Parker, what else can I say? They are adorable!

Max had some friends over to play a couple of days ago. They were rolling over the couches, climbing up onto the bookshelf, all sorts of naughty boy things. We had a great time and Max was really sad when they left. We need to have them over more!

First day of nursery

Max finally went to Junior Nursery today. Because of our trip to Utah and Conference, it's been a little bit postponed but he did pretty well, considering he had missed is nap. They told us he only cried for the first few minutes then was fine the rest of the time. Even though I'm just next door in Sr. nursery, I was still sad to see him go. Such a big boy now!! This is a picture of him and his cute dad before going to church.

Here are some pictures from after church. Max and I were playing with Bandit and Max was giving him loves, but also giving dad some mean looks. He is so funny with his expressions!

Wild Wild West

A few weeks ago a couple of us girls took our kids to the Wild Wild West fair that the city put on. I forgot to put the pictures up, but here they are. Max had a blast riding the pony and the train and playing all over. Actually, he hated the pony, but liked the rest!!
Luckily we got there early because by the time we left, it was soooo packed! We had a ball, though! He fell asleep in the car within minutes of the drive home and took a great nap. I wish they had things like this going on more often around here!

Quick "trip" up to Utah

Max and I just got back from our quick little jaunt up to Utah. I spent the week trying to help my mom out with my Grandparents. I don't know how she does all she does, she is superwoman. I want to tell Morgan's parents "thanks" because they helped out so much this last week with Max. He can sometimes be really difficult, especially when he misses his nap, so thanks to them for hanging out with him all day so I could stay at the hospital. I really appreciated it. Oh, and thanks for his cute new Columbia jacket! It's adorable!
Even though it was a really rough week, it was really good getting to see everyone and spending some time with my Grandpa and Grandma. Max got to see his cousin Ellie, whom he hasn't seen since last October. It was fun to see my cousins. Hope you guys had fun in Park City!! Max also saw his cousin Spencer, whom he hasn't seen since last Christmas! I was sad that we didn't get to see Tracie and Spencer more than we did, but I was glad for the time we got. Unfortunately Max didn't especially get along with his Cousin Kate this week. For some reason, we couldn't leave the two alone for 2 seconds, they kept fighting over toys.
It was good to see everyone, but I was definitely counting down the days to come home. We missed Morgan and the "easy" life. Oh, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but the weather was missed, too!! It made me appreciate the heat, driving around in that snow. Even if I was driving it in my mom's cool car. By the way, mom, thanks for letting me drive the "nice" car while you got stuck with the Honda:)
We're finally getting settled and hoping to get back into a routine, even if we are just heading back up in a few short weeks. Max has had a good week, and he's waking up from his nap now, so I will post more later!

Watching a little T.V.

I'm telling you, this kid is hilarious! Where in the world do they get it from? Anyways, we are having a good week so far. Max is cutting some new teeth on his bottom sides and is kind of acting like a stink, but we'll get through it. As long as we get to spend some time outside in this beautiful weather, I'll stay sane. :)

Word, Uncle Tay

Here is a picture of Max dressing up like his Uncle Taylor. Now, if only we could get him to rap?

Copy cat

After I saw Matt and Sarah Redd's post, I had to see for myself since I always get that he looks like Morgan. Interesting results!

Say "Cheese!"

Max has started to say "Cheese" when we get the camera out. Needless to say, I have gotten the camera out a lot more! After he says it, he throws his head back and cackles! Such a funny boy!

Stupid Southwest Airlines

It took me FOREVER to find this, I guess they don't want to make it too public because then they'd get a lot of complaints. But, I did find this statement on their website:

Note: Currently in San Antonio, TX, and beginning October 2 in all other Southwest cities, an adult traveling with a child four years old or younger will board between the “A” and “B” boarding groups. If you have an “A” boarding pass, please feel free to board with that boarding group. With an all-jet fleet outfitted with comfortable, leather seats, our families with small children are easily accommodated together.

Sure is going to make flying a heck of a lot more fun!

Play time with dad

Doing good

We've had a pretty uneventful past couple of days. Max is doing a lot better with his sign language, though! He is now doing "please," "more," "all done," "milk," "thank you," (although thank you is more like he's blowing kisses), "bath," and "drink." Sometimes he'll even do two in a row, like "more milk" or "please drink." Morgan isn't loving the sign language, he thinks it's slowing his language development, but it sure is nice for me because then I know what he's trying to communicate. And he really is trying to speak more. Today at lunch he was really trying hard to say "strawberry." And of course, he loves saying "foo-ball!" He is so funny and I am having so much fun staying at home with him and seeing him do new things each day.

Cutest boy EVER

How did I get so lucky?

We love you, Grandpa Ole!

What a scare we had this past weekend. My grandpa Ole had a stroke and we didn't know what was going to happen. After a day filled with quite a bit of bad news, the doctors at LDS Hospital reported that it was likely he would have a full recovery. Not bad for an 88 year old man! Ole is the toughest man I know. I remember when he and Morgan went golfing once a couple of years ago and he made Morgan walk the course. Morgan came home saying Ole was in better shape than he was.
He also is the strongest minded (and strongest willed) man I know. I'm reading a book right now by Bernard Goldberg and he says the world needs more John Wayne-like men. Well, that's my grandpa. I just want him to know that I'm so grateful he's going to be ok and that I'm so sorry I couldn't be at the hospital with him. I'm glad that some of my cousins got to go up and spend some time with him during his recovery.
Right before Max and I came home from Utah, the night before his stroke, we went to say good-bye to him. Max was finally warming up to him and they were passing a basketball around and having a really good time. I'm so grateful the my little Max has gotten to spend so much time with his great grandparents and that he's got the "Zundel" name to hold onto.
