Quick "trip" up to Utah

Max and I just got back from our quick little jaunt up to Utah. I spent the week trying to help my mom out with my Grandparents. I don't know how she does all she does, she is superwoman. I want to tell Morgan's parents "thanks" because they helped out so much this last week with Max. He can sometimes be really difficult, especially when he misses his nap, so thanks to them for hanging out with him all day so I could stay at the hospital. I really appreciated it. Oh, and thanks for his cute new Columbia jacket! It's adorable!
Even though it was a really rough week, it was really good getting to see everyone and spending some time with my Grandpa and Grandma. Max got to see his cousin Ellie, whom he hasn't seen since last October. It was fun to see my cousins. Hope you guys had fun in Park City!! Max also saw his cousin Spencer, whom he hasn't seen since last Christmas! I was sad that we didn't get to see Tracie and Spencer more than we did, but I was glad for the time we got. Unfortunately Max didn't especially get along with his Cousin Kate this week. For some reason, we couldn't leave the two alone for 2 seconds, they kept fighting over toys.
It was good to see everyone, but I was definitely counting down the days to come home. We missed Morgan and the "easy" life. Oh, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but the weather was missed, too!! It made me appreciate the heat, driving around in that snow. Even if I was driving it in my mom's cool car. By the way, mom, thanks for letting me drive the "nice" car while you got stuck with the Honda:)
We're finally getting settled and hoping to get back into a routine, even if we are just heading back up in a few short weeks. Max has had a good week, and he's waking up from his nap now, so I will post more later!

Watching a little T.V.

I'm telling you, this kid is hilarious! Where in the world do they get it from? Anyways, we are having a good week so far. Max is cutting some new teeth on his bottom sides and is kind of acting like a stink, but we'll get through it. As long as we get to spend some time outside in this beautiful weather, I'll stay sane. :)

Word, Uncle Tay

Here is a picture of Max dressing up like his Uncle Taylor. Now, if only we could get him to rap?

Copy cat

After I saw Matt and Sarah Redd's post, I had to see for myself since I always get that he looks like Morgan. Interesting results!

Say "Cheese!"

Max has started to say "Cheese" when we get the camera out. Needless to say, I have gotten the camera out a lot more! After he says it, he throws his head back and cackles! Such a funny boy!

Stupid Southwest Airlines

It took me FOREVER to find this, I guess they don't want to make it too public because then they'd get a lot of complaints. But, I did find this statement on their website:

Note: Currently in San Antonio, TX, and beginning October 2 in all other Southwest cities, an adult traveling with a child four years old or younger will board between the “A” and “B” boarding groups. If you have an “A” boarding pass, please feel free to board with that boarding group. With an all-jet fleet outfitted with comfortable, leather seats, our families with small children are easily accommodated together.

Sure is going to make flying a heck of a lot more fun!

Doing good

We've had a pretty uneventful past couple of days. Max is doing a lot better with his sign language, though! He is now doing "please," "more," "all done," "milk," "thank you," (although thank you is more like he's blowing kisses), "bath," and "drink." Sometimes he'll even do two in a row, like "more milk" or "please drink." Morgan isn't loving the sign language, he thinks it's slowing his language development, but it sure is nice for me because then I know what he's trying to communicate. And he really is trying to speak more. Today at lunch he was really trying hard to say "strawberry." And of course, he loves saying "foo-ball!" He is so funny and I am having so much fun staying at home with him and seeing him do new things each day.

We love you, Grandpa Ole!

What a scare we had this past weekend. My grandpa Ole had a stroke and we didn't know what was going to happen. After a day filled with quite a bit of bad news, the doctors at LDS Hospital reported that it was likely he would have a full recovery. Not bad for an 88 year old man! Ole is the toughest man I know. I remember when he and Morgan went golfing once a couple of years ago and he made Morgan walk the course. Morgan came home saying Ole was in better shape than he was.
He also is the strongest minded (and strongest willed) man I know. I'm reading a book right now by Bernard Goldberg and he says the world needs more John Wayne-like men. Well, that's my grandpa. I just want him to know that I'm so grateful he's going to be ok and that I'm so sorry I couldn't be at the hospital with him. I'm glad that some of my cousins got to go up and spend some time with him during his recovery.
Right before Max and I came home from Utah, the night before his stroke, we went to say good-bye to him. Max was finally warming up to him and they were passing a basketball around and having a really good time. I'm so grateful the my little Max has gotten to spend so much time with his great grandparents and that he's got the "Zundel" name to hold onto.

Back to school

Well, the summer is officially over. Morgan went back to school yesterday and Max and I are missing him very much. He doesn't sound too excited about his second year, but after this, he'll be doing his rotations and that will be a little bit more exciting.
Max and I have a lot planned for the next few days, just to keep busy and our minds off him being gone. Yesterday we went to the mall and played with some friends, then went grocery shopping (where Max just kept yelling out "DAD!" and looking down each isle), and then Danielle and her little boy Luke came over for a swim. It was a lot of fun and with this 110 degree weather, the pool will definitely get used every day! Apparently Arizona is going for a record with temps over 110 degrees for over 30 days this summer. Yikes.
Max still hasn't been feeling 100%, as evident in his lousy sleeping and moody afternoons. I think headcolds are almost the worst thing they can catch because they last FOREVER! But he's always in a good mood when we turn on High School Musical:) He sure loves that show! Actually, right now he's a lttle obsessed with the t.v. in general...we've taken to calling him Max T.V. Definitely cutting back on that now that Morgan is back in school. It really is going to be nice now to get back into a little routine and structure now that Morgan is back in school. Summer was fun, but I guess it's time to start being an adult. Ugh, how morbid did that sound?!

Surprise Visit

Max just wanted to say thank you to Grammie and Grandpa for coming down to see him this weekend! He had so much fun playing at your swimming pool and showing you his new swim "skills." And he LOVES his new shoes and clothes you got him!! He keeps pulling out the shoes and wants to wear them.
And first thing this morning he pulled his new Bible Stories book off the shelf and wanted to read it.
It was such a fun weekend and we were sad to see them go. Especially because it means that we are that much closer to seeing Morgan go back to school. This next year is going to be tough but we're excited to be that much closer to being done! Thanks for the visit, Grammie and Grandpa!! See you in October!!

Rainy Day in Florida

Check out my Slide Show!

Fun in Florida!

We just got back from our weeklong trip to Flordia with our friends Brooke, Jason, and Parker, and Siri, Sean, and Addie!! We stayed with Brooke's parents in Winter Park, which is a beautiful little town outside of Orlando. Her parents were so nice and did so much for us! They live on a lake and we got to go out boating at the drop of a hat!
The first day we were there, Morgan and the other husbands went to Islands of Adventure and did some indoor surfing. We got to spend some time shopping, boating, swimming at their country club, and of course, DISNEYWORLD! We had a great time at Disneyworld on Monday, although the humidity almost made it unbearable....
Then on Tuesday Brooke's dad, Capt. Roy, took us out on the yacht. It was such a beautiful boat and he took us to Daytona where the kids all got to play on the beach!
It was such a fun trip and it was hard leaving all the beautiful greenery and coming back to the desert. Max was sooo good on the plane coming back and when we got home, he just went CRAZY playing with his toys and running around with Bandit!! What a fun trip, but oh so good to be home!

Beatin' the Heat at the Splash-Pad

Usually takes him a minute to get into it, but once he does, he puts up a fight to leave!

Shootin' some hoops

Max FINALLY got his own basketball hoop! He LOVE LOVE LOVES his friend Parkers, so yesterday dad took him out to get one. As you can see, it's a little too big...but he is doing his "1, 2, 3, JUMP" and trying to make some shots. The funniest thing though happened this morning. Max AMAZINGLY slept from 8 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. (a FIRST but we LOVED it!) and I woke up to him yelling "Ooh! Ooh!" and when I opened the door, he was trying to reach his basketball! It was so cute, not to mention great that he woke up in such a good mood, which is rare. The hoop is great, it goes up to 6 feet and when it finally cools down we'll put it outside for him to play with.

Also, thank you Mathie's for our "new" dining room table! Morgan set it up today and it looks great!! He is finally starting to think we need to get some rugs around the house....it's only taken a year of convincing on my part! I guess we need Grammie Mathie to come down and help us figure out what shapes, sizes, and colors we should get;) Just kidding. But thank you for the table, it fits in our "dining room" so much better!
